Jean Rapp was born on April 27, 1771, at Colmar, Alsace (Eastern France).
He served as an officer during the French Revolution, and a General during the Empire.
He died of cancer at Rheinwiller, Bade, on November 8, 1821, and was buried at the Ladhof Cemetery in Colmar.
